This lesson sample was created for a month-long "Book Discussion" course for a private academy in South Korea. This month we read "Eat Pray Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert and this lesson emphasized American culture. Students read the chapter and then attended the 45-minute class each week to discuss the plot, themes, and vocabulary from "Eat Pray Love".
This lesson sample was created for a month long "Book Discussion" course for a private academy in South Korea. On the first class of the month, we tried to explore our background knowledge in a 100-minute lesson. As the teacher, I presented context of the novel and students would engage in deep classroom discussion. This month's Book Discussion was on "The Remains of the Day" by Kazuo Ishiguro.
Advanced Lesson Sample
This lesson sample was created for a month-long "Book Discussion" course for a private academy in South Korea. We discussed "Exit West" by Moshin Hamid. Typically, the first lesson of the month is focused on discussing character exposition and trying to understand the setting of a novel.
